LX is a lovely vehicle with a rich history. According to me its one of the best large SUVs together with the Land cruiser.
You won't be disappointed with either the diesel or petrol. It I could afford it my pick will be the petrol one because of the unbreakable motor. Plus in the used market it tense to be R100k cheaper. Yes it's not efficient but just think about it, how much petrol can you buy for R100k?
Lexus is my favorite brand, I still drive my 2013 GS350 and my wife drives a 2014 RX350 and we are both happy with our choices 11 years down the line, plus I do all maintenance myself.

570 all day, long term LX owner here and wouldn’t have anything else

Lexus interior noise reduction is on a different level than all other manufactures.
With an over-sized SUV like this though, in this modern day, it has to be hybrid or diesel. The LX450 should have a standard sunroof and the LX570 should have a standard panoramic sunroof.
The LX is nice, but the Infiniti QX80 is better looking as far as Asian SUVs go. But the styling doesn't compare to zee Germans, GLS 550 and X7.
