"Don't allow your kids to do things that will make you hate them. " Jordan Peterson

Kids have friends, they need parents! When they are adults then you can be a friend.

Something that started in the late 70s, that really annoyed me was when parents started introducing their friends as " This is Amy and John" to their children instead of "This is Mr. and Mrs. Smith". When I was a child, we respected adults.

When I got on a train or bus with my Mum in the 70's I was made to stand up for adults and give them my seat, now people expect you to give up your seat for kids.

Don’t forget: The teachers at school and the media (entertainment, etc) began to tell children that the parents and elders did not understand because they were not as smart as the children. An example of this is global warming.

And who raised those kids? Who made them that way? Who's fault is it?

That's right, your generation.

There was absolutley a period of time where i was absolutely not the adult. I did not sit at the table with the adults, i did not participate in adult conversations, i was treated as a child. But i was also very smart. Took a lot of AP classes, took community college classes in high school, was articulate, so those barriers came down much sooner for me than for my other family member, and my cousins did not engage with them in the same way. The way i was treated when i was 14 was not the way my cousins were treated when they were 14 because they were not where i was at that time, and that carried a lot of negatives and a lot of positives for me well into my adulthood

What happened is people like Bill here were never disciplined and because of that constantly were saying you don't have the right horseshit.

Started in the late 50’s. Got rooted in the 60’s. Began to grow unfettered in the 70’s then bloomed through the 80’s & 90’s. Now we’re over run with total soccer mom adolescent female wannabe males. Give a child everything and you will always get everything except a wise adult, that won’t leave home until you die, even then it just ends up theirs.

So, Bill has officially entered the "Get off my lawn" stages of his career.
He hasn't completely turned into Dennis Miller yet but he's getting there.

“My generation was a little too self involved “
REALLY BILLY a little
THEY CALLED IT THE “ ME” generation for a REASON !
Remember
“ don’t trust anyone over 30 “!
If it feels good do it
If you can’t be with the one you love …
Love the one you’re with
& the great escape clause
THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT !!!
Just a little self involved

Military kid, now 75 years old. NEVER would have ran my 5 year old butt into the living room screaming daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy when company was over. Really drives me nuts when these parents allow their little angels to DOMINATE the home.

True, the treating them like peers. Nothing is more annoying than some little 5 year old correcting their parent or other adult. Happens ALL the time in movies and shows. Like the movie, War of the Worlds with Tom cruise. His little girl scolds her father (Cruise) throughout the movie. I find myself thinking, stfu you disrespectful little turd!

Lol not ever parent is like this. I grew up in central Appalachia like in the coal fields and growing we was def not told this. It’s was literally work to have nice things. I’m a coal miner now and make over 110k a year. I have nice things cause I work. I’m guessing a lot of the suburbs kids got this msg. I sure the fuck didn’t.

Thanks flip-flop Maher! I’m not sure you should be in the adult conversations now either! Are you dem or rep today- or are we waiting for the opening news stories first— or just a call from mom??

The do gooders interference have made this shit-show mistake by giving the "child" an adult responsibility. The utopia they wanted is absolutely impossible to achieve because we are human 😂 nothing is perfect

And I was not treated like a freaking peer ether if papaw was talking my ass didn’t talk, and if I pulled some shit with my mom I’d be nervous as mother fcker cause dad was grump as hell leaving the mines and my ass would get lit on fire from a coal mining belt.

What’s really unique about them is they are the first generation to realize the gigs up before they were sold into the fold. Now our generation has the responsibility to convince them of the good parts while we all know it’s not good at all. 😂
