BEST OF BAROQUE MUSIC COMPOSERS A TO Z, PART I / Who are the best baroque composers? If you had to only pick one Baroque composer for each letter of the alphabet, who would make your list of the “Best of Baroque”?

In this video I give you *my* A to Z list of who I think are the best composers of Baroque music. There’s a catch, though--I can only give one composer for each letter, so the greats like Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel make it on, but you might be surprised to discover some other composers you’re unfamiliar with. I hope you find some new music and new Baroque composers to explore!

This video is Part I of a three part series: it covers the letters A through H.

Nice video! I didn't understand why you chose Corelli over Couperin, considering your passion for keyboard music, but lastly I understood that you made your list of musicians even though their works weren't mainly on keyboard pieces... because... you know... Couperin was a keyboard master. Thanks, great channel you have!

Hi Alice, what a nice video! thank you for making this quality content. I'm wondering if you know, have, or could make a video on the differences between the 'italian', 'french', 'german' and 'english' baroque styles. I often hear these terms and I have a bit of an intuitive understanding of them, but I can't pinpoint as to exactly what makes a pieces in one particular national style.

I do not see Parts 2&3 of your list of Baroque composers. I have checked your playlists and videos lists and it is not available.
When will they be available for us?
Many thanks

"C" is a hard letter. Corelli makes sense but sad to not see either of my two faves, Caccini and Cavalieri!!

Although, of course, the famous high passage of Allegri's Miserere isn't original at all, and came about in the late 19th century.

For the letter B I'm sure you can already guess who I'm going to pick:
DIETERICH BUXTEHUDE

Honestly surprised you've picked Geminiani over Gibbons.
Still going to wager you've picked Roberday for R and Sweelinck for S.
