Honestly i'm planning on getting a resin 3d printer since i already have a spool 3d printer. So i came here to find what i needed for maximum protection and it looks like i came to the right place.👍

Liking the fact that you’re building up the info a little at a time.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone demonstrate a face shield like that before 😂

Great info here. Can you go into more detail about the VOC filter system you use? I'm a geek who is really into safety. Having worked installing gas analysing equipment the first thing I looked into was the safety aspects. (I don't have specific knowledge on gasses as such but we did nail PPE) You're doing a great job here compared to others.

BTW, you can file / grind the sharp corners on a scraper so they are no longer sharp.🙄 It's what I've done, along with getting the Wham Bam plates.

I plan to get one. I have nitrile gloves, goggles, and a respirator. I plan to get a silicone mat with a lip. I’m going to put the printer in the garage and see if I can vent it out. I also plan to use low odor resin. I am eyeing the Mars because of the seal and carbon filter.

Can the fumes emitted from the printer effect clothing? I'm planning on getting a printer and the only option I have to store it is in the laundry room. It has a very large window, almost the size of an entire wall but I'm concerned that it's ruin the clothes we have stored there or that it'll effect us when the clothes are worn.

Thank you for all this. Can’t believe nobody really talks about this in all the wargaming miniatures printing videos; just look at these cool miniatures and the printer some manufacturer gave me free to tell you about. I was going to get one but really this is an industrial process being brought into your home. You haven’t scared me as such but this something if you don’t have kids and live in a big outdoorsy place. Do you think one day there will be totally safe resin?

Hey, i don't know your channel, just looked out for such as video as there only a tiny amount of useful videos out there covering that stuff, which scares me (Nice video btw). Just looking out for if i want to buy a resin printer, but i just bounce around with my decision from "Yes, it isn't that scary as it sounds" to "Nah, don't worth the hustle, don't touch it". And i am just only consider buying one for a few prints. But then i ask myself if i really need to do that on my own. I mean, there are companys who allow you to print stuff for you, but for ex. i have seen people saying that platforms like Shapeways just downgraded they quality over the years with more into the "mainstream costumer" direction. Less options and more unoptimized prints and such. And now my question is, if its worth the hustle to buy a own printer and do all that safety procaustions. Or if its a better idea to let that task outsource. And if so, what site can you recommend?

I'm pretty sold on everything however I'm struggling with the vapor at the moment. I have my printer in a very small walk in cupboard that has a ventilation fan outside the door. My plan is to print with the fan on, and the door ajar a little. However, just outside the door is a hatchway in the wall that looks into the kitchen and this has me worried about the fumes - so I'm considering just porting everything outside into the garage, which will be a total pita for printing (no internal door, only entrance is where the cars go in) but, maybe safer. I haven't printed anything yet, not even used the printer. Still trying to decide if the fumes will be so bad that it will affect things in rooms outside the printing area.

*eyes husbands old long sleeve tees* I caved and bought an Elegoo. Thanks for safety warnings. I have a lot of safety equipment for my kiln and glaze applications, so most of them will double duty.

im in some 3d miniatures discord groups and the number of people that say things like "its overblown, its fine as long as you dont stick your face in it" etc just proves this isnt meant for normal people use and requires way more care and set up than a regular old 2d printer.

i had a mars 2 pro and the second i could start smelling it after printing, i refunded it. theres no way that stuff is safe despite what random people in discord and what the manufacturer (which, lets be real, are chinese companies that are not QA testing anything) say, and wish i had seen this video before ever buying it in the first place.

Ah, yes. The ending reminded me of people drinking bleach.
