Gold Prospecting and Sluicing in the Shotover River!

Its a hobby. Not a job. You dont expect to get rich from doing it. Its just a way to spend a day or weekend or a week away from the city and enjoy the peace and quiet with the benefit of maybe getting a few dollars. I have been out many times and never get much. Certainly not enough to even pay for travelling costs to get there.

Lesson learned: Don't expect much gold to ever be in loosely packed gravel. Unless it's on bedrock or a couple inches above in a cement like clay state, leave the gravel there. Don't know why he keeps showing us Almost nothing and calls it Heaps

Bro, up to 95% of gold will drop in the Front of your sluice ( the black mat). So the way you drop the last material from your bucket in to the sluice tells me that you have no ideas what are you doing. Even if there was gold you washed it away...
