100 Days of Narration - Introduction

NOTE: THE MYSTERY BOOK CHALLENGE (that's what I'm calling it now) WILL HAPPEN EVERY 7 VIDEOS AND I'LL PICK A NAME FROM THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE SUBMITTED CORRECT GUESSES WITHIN 24 HOURS

Hi everybody this is Edwyn AKA Omahdon and welcome to my first ever 100 Days of Narration Challenge. Now some of you may be asking "Edwyn, you handsomely voiced devil with all the girlfriends and obscene stacks of cash in your bank account -- what exactly IS this 100 Days of Narration challenge?". Well, this is sort of a roundabout way of building up my confidence, experience and all-round skill level in doing narration, books on tape or just any kind of situation where'd it'd just be me doing mouth talkering for an extended period of time. I'm actually really, REALLY terrible at narration and trying to maintain some kind of cadence when it's just myself and the written text.

So for the next 100 videos or so, I'm going to grab a book from my bookshelf, open up to a random page, and I'm going to attempt to read an entire page outloud in a single go. There'll be no edits, no cutting of lip flubs, no redoes, lots of throat-clearing and cursing and repetition as I go over a line again and again trying to sound it out so it SOUNDS right -- It's going to be fun! Or really terrible. But in any event I hope you will be entertained by my struggles.

Now just to make things interesting for you guys, occasionally I'll do a reading from a book but I won't bother to include the title in the video. The first person to guess what I'm reading and message me on Youtube with the answer, gets to request a thirty second mp3 message from me for whatever they want. You can ask for a character voice, you can ask for a messagebank message, you can ask for me to read out your scripts, you can ask me to scream swearwords at the top of my lungs for 30 seconds straight, it's up to you. Please don't ask me to scream swearwords at the top of my lungs for 30 seconds straight. The neighbours will talk.

But to be fair, you have to give me the exact TITLE of the book I'm reading from. So say if I was reading from a book featuring the exploits of a famous young teen wizard and you hear me say "AVADA KEDAVRA!", you can't just message me and go "It's from one of the Harry Potter books!" -- no, you have to tell me the actual book that that passage came from. Things get a bit messy with compilations of short stories, but if you can tell me the title of the short story I'm reading from, I think that will work out nicely.

I..I have to remember a book? Literature? Oh noes D= I'm horrible at reading.. Plus half of the books I read (Which would be about 5 not including text books for college), are in Dutch
