Emergence du Ressel, a beautiful and very famous cave diving site in France. Many European divers came here to take classes and explore the cave. However, in 2021 two fatal incidents occurred in this cave which we will cover in this video.

Emergence du Ressel, or Ressel cave, is located in Marcilhac-sur-Célé, Occitanie region of France's Lot province. France is one of the best places in the world for cave diving, with over 20,000 caves known to exist. Around the rivers of Lot and Dordogne in the Southwest is one of the most fascinating areas. Many of the long, deep caves found here have water that is mainly clean and warm, resulting in excellent diving conditions. The visibility often varies between 15-100 ft (5-30 m), and the water's average temperature is 14°C (57°F).

I've been there in the week before the accident. I learned about the 2nd accident, but wondered what might have happened. The tunnel is .. big, but there are large boulders. He created an unnecessary challenge. There is plenty of space everywhere.

I bet there not a lot of people arguing about masks down there.

Disabled and cave diving seems like the worst idea ever. Not disabled and cave diving is basically a death wish.

I see tons of toolmarks, someone did some mining here way back.

The Belgian diver (RIP) incident made me think of a video of a cat that got stuck in a plastic tube it was exploring - head and front paws out one end, hind legs and tail out the other.

Just a question if anyone knows. Are there really any valid archeological sites down there? Still, I mean that you can see. I didn't see anything there that would make me want to risk my life. No judgement just can't wrap my head around it. If you're talking about remains, physical untouched proof of a prehistoric culture, I'd say maybe.
I guess to each his own.

There's a chance that Robert bought his certifications instead of actually going through a training. It was a huge controversy at the time, if you're interested there are multiple reports online. Rest in peace ✌️🕊️
