I used to think everybody went broke during the Great Depression and other major crashes but they didn’t… Some made millions, I also thought everybody went out of business during these times but they didn’t, some went into business, there's always depression/recession for some people and there's always a good time for others, it's all about perspective.

My 401k tanked in 2008 when Bush was in office, and it tanked in 2020 when Trump was in office. Both times I just let it ride and things bounced back. Seems like they almost always do.

I don't know about a recession, but no one can afford to buy homes. Thats a fact. You are correct housing is going up....to the degree no one will be able to afford a mortgage on an average salary.

Ramsay - The US economy is in the best shape ever! Its stock market is at all time highs and everyone is happy! People are homeless because they are too lazy to work! If the US Government has any money problems they can always print more money!

Here's the thing. Economics (at least in Canada) isn't taught in high school (I imagine sonething like that in the USA too). So it adds up why there are people who don't know economics.

I believe in 2022 we were in a recession but the administration was saying oh no it's not a recession. But today we are not, but Inflation is still affecting alot of people and prices are way to high .

Dave is right, but also slightly disconnected. The government meddling in industries has had a huge impact on some people's lives.
