Here's a pretty straightforward love song that tries to answer the question — what would you do without that monumental person in your life? This is one of two tracks that we wrote with Jonathan Singleton on our new record. Jonathan had the chorus and the rest of the song fell into place in about 90 minutes. They don’t always come that easy, but the ones that do tend to be pretty special.

We’ve been writing sporadically with Jonathan since 2014. The first song we wrote together was Made Up Mind and we’ve often reminisced about how that was one of our first really formative co-writes. We learned a lot from him that day and ended up with a song that we still really love. This year, we got the news of a lifetime when we found out that our hero, Bonnie Raitt, was cutting her version of Made Up Mind as the first single on her new record.

It's literally not a single song this band (or Joey's solo stuff for that matter) that I don't love. As a super finicky music lover and maker, that's quite a feat. This song is so good. Add it to the list of "too hard to pick which is my favorite." So excited for a new full-length record. Keep em coming, boys.

Side note: as a drummer, whoever does all the drum tracking. Major props. Drums and cymbals always sound so freaking good. It all starts right there for me. It opens it up for me to listen to all the other incredible individual parts. My favorite band for the last couple of years. Come to Texas soon, and hopefully, I won't be on the road myself. I would love to see the live show. Kudos BL.
