If I Go I'm Goin' - Gregory Alan Isakov (cover by Sammy Copley)

Hello friends!! Made an exclusive cover of the song that precedes this on the Empty Northern Hemisphere album for my Patreon, and just couldn't stop myself tackling this one too. This is the closing track to one of my favourite albums of all time, and also has a beautiful feature at the end of the Mike Flanagan Haunting of Hill House adaptation. I've seen Gregory live twice and he played it neither time (lol), so I don't know how he feels about it, but I think it's gorgeous. Anyway! I've discovered Sammy's music thanks to his cover of some old Leonard Cohen's song, then I was dragged into other songs I knew which he covered majestically (Paul Simon's or Joni Mitchell's, to give some examples), then I fell deeper and deeper in love with Sammy's original tracks (Growing Pains is a literal refuge I go back to to find safety) and collabs (Ezra's "Dust" has been essential through a tough period, long story) and so so so many more amazing artists I've discovered only thanks to his covers (like Paul Brady? hello! where have I been my entire life), and each and every time he's able to just throw us another amazing cover of an amazing artist like it's nothing!
I'm in awe of this young artist's talent and of his artistic trajectory 🤩 can't wait to see what's more to come!
And also, least we forget, free Palestine and f*ck all forms of colonialism 🍉
