“And with that, victor wembanyama is the all time block leader after only 5 seasons! Wow!”

As someone from Europe I think there is no need to change the goal tending rules in the NBA, but you do need to get rid of the defensive 3 second rule, the game has so much spacing now that when the key is clear it's a free bucket.

Defensive three seconds is one of the worst rules in sports and it has no reason to exist.

There are obviously other factors that made the Olympics so great (storylines, single elimination, more rest between games, Olympic medals on the line etc) but hey is there a single reason why the NBA shouldn’t do this?

that nfl comparison was such a good way to explain it. it doesn’t make sense why the rule even exists, feels like they have it in place just to create that “fairness” but in reality it doesn’t really make sense.

The goal tending rules are legit their worst ones

Agree completely, was thinking while watching the finals that the NBA needs to make this change. Just removes power from the refs to make biased calls and is a good way to take pressure off the officiating

If these Olympic Games were 48 minutes. The scores would be even higher

10 mins quarters will bring down injures and make the 1st half so much more important

Real reason is bc the court width is shrunk in fiba rules. That’s why there is far less spacing therefore making it easier to defend and easier for other plays to recover. Defensive 3 sec rule wouldn’t affect 90% of modern offenses like Rudy can’t camp in the paint if brown and porzingis run a pick and pop or if the big man rolls he would alr be in the paint and it also doesn’t affect off ball action. Also lack of space allowed gobert and Wemby to switch onto smaller defenders and essentially trap them so if u want it more like fiba make the court smaller which would never happeb

If anything I think hand checking and letting big man sit in the paint for 5 seconds instead of 3 would be pretty fun things to allow

If anything or any rule I think adding back some hand checking would be great

The goaltending rule would also allow easy putbacks for big men too

Goaltending has always been dumb to me. But 3 second calls are tough. If you get rid of that, especially on the offensive side it takes away a lot of the skillset from the game imo. Taking it away on defense would help probably

So many international players like Luka have stated it’s way harder to score with Fiba rules

I like that they were able to sub in during the game and not just after a whistle

I agree with the NBA rules about goaltending, but maybe bringing back no three second call could fix all these highlight dunks.

Sweeping the ball out is something u see like once every game, it's not a game changer. The officiating allowing way more contact and the defensive seconds is what changes everything 😊

another great thing bout the olympics was dwyane wade + noah eagle calling the games lol

i agree but goal tending is more complicated, if more than half the ball is at the exterior of the rim you can swat it
