KOMELON - SELF 'LOCK' Tape Mechanism Post Mortem and Fix

I bought three of these because I was looking for a wide-blade Metric/Standard Tape for thee shop. Seems that I may have jumped the gun assuming that the most basic locking mechanism would be robust.

Let's take a look at why these fail and how you can fix them with 3 screws removed and a little iso alcohol.

They need something like a brush to gently "scrub" the tape as it retracts. 🤷‍♂️ Nicely done!👍🍻
