I took The Midnight Special for granted when I was a teenager growing up in the seventies, now I’m completely amazed at how lucky we were.back then.

Wow, can't believe 50 years have gone by since that performance aired but it sounds as great now as it did then. I won a copy of the "Drift Away" album off a local radio station that year and still have it today, mint condition. RIP Dobie Gray

I was a little kid & I would stay up to watch The Midnight Special with Wolfman Jack. I remember watching Ike & Tina perform "Proud Mary". Even then I knew that was really special.
