What does that mean for your broken heart? What will it feel like in a few years from now if you’ve been hurting for so long already?

You’ll remember your own value and that nothing lasts forever, and the pain will fade away.

For now, you need a few gentle reminders to get you through the hardest parts of recovery, so that is why I’m here.

1. You are not weak for crying

People tend to believe that crying is a sign of weakness. Everyone tells you to stop crying because of him, that you should be stronger than that.

You are so strong for being vulnerable and showing your true feelings.

2. You can’t control who stays and leaves

I know that life would be much easier if we could control who stays in our life, but sometimes life isn’t that kind to us.

We all need a gentle reminder that we can’t control how other people feel, no matter how much we would love to.

3. Let go

I’ll leave this here as a reminder that you need to let go. You won’t be able to move on with your life unless you do this.

It’s easier to hold onto emotions and memories like they’re the only things making you feel safe right now.

4. You need to communicate

Please don’t close off from the people around you. Please don’t let all those emotions bottle up inside you.

They will come haunting you when you’re all alone and you won’t know how to handle them.

5. Take care of your health

When your healing process takes too long, you forget to take care of your health.

We all tend to become a bit self-destructive. We will forget to eat or we’ll eat junk food.

I know that ice cream seems like the best thing to help you mend your broken heart, but please make a proper meal for yourself.

6. You are worthy of love

You have been left to fight on your own and the first thing that you thought of was that you deserved this pain.

You might have even brought yourself to think that you simply aren’t lovable. Let me tell you that this isn’t true.

Every single person in this world is deserving of love, and that includes you.

7. You will be able to trust again

Yeah, you’ve lost your ability to trust people. You trusted your fragile heart in the hands of someone who you thought would keep it safe forever.

But what did he do? He shattered it into millions of little pieces without a second thought.

So why should you trust people? Well, not everyone is the same. Not everyone will be like this in your life.

8. If it was meant to be, it wouldn’t hurt this much

You thought that he was the one and you’re still so certain of it.

Even though his absence hurts like hell, you still believe that he was the one you were supposed to spend eternity with.

Your forever person won’t let you cry without them being there to console you. If he was actually the one, you wouldn’t be this heartbroken.

I know it sounds like the biggest cliché out there. Like everything you’ve been told by the people in your life too many times.

This is your gentle reminder that it’s true. You will be loved more than you ever thought possible.

This person will show you that there is no one more precious to them than you are.

You will love again and you will be loved again.
