Outlander is one of the most amazing shows I've ever watched! It just gives me this feeling that's hard to describe. Something about it is just so magical and it fills you with this sort of bittersweet nostalgia for the time of the Highlanders. The music, the characters… I've always been fascinated with Scotland, the Scots, the Highlands and all things Gaelic, but this show made me fall in love with Scotland all over again. Just as I fell in love with Claire and Jamie. I only recently began watching it, having wanted to ever since it first came out but never gotten around to it 'cause of all the other shows I needed to catch up on, but it's quickly become one of my all-time favourite TV-shows. Thinking about the show almost saddens me, in a weird way. Everything about it is just so perfect, and it has completely drawn me in, and utterly spellbound me. Not an episode goes by without me shedding a tear, whether it's from joy, sadness, bittersweet moments or something in-between. And this Love Theme never fails to get those tears rolling, whatever the current situation at hand may be.

I‘m extremely late to the community of Outlander having watched the show for the very first time in summer of 2023. It all started when one of my work colleagues who’s fascinated with Scottish history randomly recommended me this show of a time traveling nurse from the 20th century and this Scottish warrior from the 18th century who fell in love with each other. I didn’t think much of it but when I got home after work I was like “why not give it a try?“.🤔
Long story short, I binged watched all 5 seasons on Netflix within 2 Months and immediately purchased the 6th and 7th season on Apple TV (they weren’t available on Netflix). From the very first episode on I got hooked to the show, attached to the characters, fascinated with the story and the phenomenal acting.
I love that it isn’t a classical fantasy show even with the time traveling elements and that it plays with important historical events as I‘m quite the history nerd.😊 The love between Jamie and Claire feels raw and real thanks to the portrayal of Sam and Caitríona. (And good lord I think I‘ve never fallen in love the same way I did when Jamie Fraser first appeared on the screen of my laptop).😅
I also think I’ve never cried so much in my life like I did in these few months watching the show, some episodes (fans will know which ones I mean) put me on an emotional roller coaster like never before. I just want to thank everyone who helped creating this show from the bottom of my heart.
Above all I want to thank Diane Gabaldon for creating this amazing story, for the first time I realized what a craft it is to create a profound story with in depth characters and dialogues, good writing is truly one of the highest forms of art there is. I‘m currently waiting for the first book to arrive (of course in English) so I can get into reading again (something I haven’t done in the past 10 years). Another positive impact the show had on my life.
Thank you also to the whole community for changing my life for the better, I appreciate every single one of you.❤️😊
A little information about me… I‘m not really into shows or get attached to characters easily, when I start a new show I usually lose interest within the first two episodes so I often don’t even bother getting into a story.
Outlander definitely has something no other show has.

Outlander changed my life - this is pure obsession. Jaime & Claire are the greatest Lovestory of all time and I am so happy we get 2 more Seasons with them <3

I think it is the music which sets this entire project apart - this is what generates the atmosphere and the sense of mystery, melancholia, Scottish spirit, the emotional medium in which the events can emerge and unfold.

The sad, soulful flute when Claire tearfully tells Jamie she will have him any way she can at the Abbey. My sister is an Outlander fanatic and insisted I watch. Not usually my kind of show but wow, stirs the soul.

Ok, I hear violin solo in the Key to Lallibroch... People say that violin is the instrument of the heart 💖
And while I listen to this, I can see Jamie watching Claire at all times, his eyes are always fixed on her, from episode 1 :-)

OMG I just started to watch Netflix and saw a link for Outlander. It's been on Starz forever! I never watched it and I can't believe some of it was actually on TV :). Oh well, I have only been able to watch seasons 1-3 but I understand Season 4 will be on Netflix the end of January. I acutally feel lost without my fix of Jamie and Claire at the end of the day. Thank you Diana Gabaldon for writing these books from a woman's perspective. I'm a widow now and if I could only find someone that kind and loving. I was lucky in my marriage. No wonder she can't leave him.

I wondered WHY this story is so enduring, it's the music which threads its way through their lives and times that creates memories for us, that also haunts us long after watching the show. Music has the power to express the mysteries we all feel at some point in our lives. wonderful use of original material coupled with existing especially love the songs selected for each episode's ending....Hard Rain Falling is especially meaningful.
