7 TIPS for BETTER STORY TELLING. This week I decided to work on a still image story. I have not So I asked a friend of mine who loves to work on old Singer sewing machines if she would not mind me doing a story on her. So we worked on a little project of my friend Anita talking about her Singer sewing experiences and the tiny Singer Sew Easy and how she has bought two of them and taken them apart and cleaned them up so they work perfectly. The cool thing is that she knows the history of the company and many things about Singer that were very interesting. In this project I talk about he seven things I do for a good visual story of still images.

I love it! What a great story, and how you got there! My spouse is going to want one of those mini sewing machines now.

Sew much fun. Kirk, the video was fun informative. My mom and grandmother both had Singers, both black except my grandmothers required you to use a foot pedal that you rocked back and forth to power it, I remember watching them as a young boy... fascinated by the machine's mechanical movements. part of the reason I love Fuji's... mechanical dials are engaging and help you enjoy the experience.

Happy new year Kirk. Very nice shots and interesting story about the little Singer machines. I learned something new today, not to be afraid of high iso noise, you went as high as iso 2000 and the photos look very sharp and clean, I’m always afraid to go over iso 400, I was expecting that you would have a lighting set up, great job Kirk. Stay safe.

Kirk. I loved this. I think you hit this out of the ballpark. I'm afraid I made a big mistake, though. I shared this video with my wife, and now we are the owners of a toy singer sewing machine en-route from eBay. Impulse buy, I'm afraid. Oh, and by the way, she said, 'I really like this guy. You can send me some more of his videos.' I think a review of my next lens purchase might be an excellent place to start. Regards Brian.

Hi Kirk I have a question for you would you please try if the 55-200 fx and the 18-55mm fx lense make a click sound when you mount them on a fujifilm X-H1 or X T1 mine does'not and sometime when I mount them the shown apparture number is 0 instead of the proper one. When it do happens I have to remove and remount the lense. So on yours do you feel a click and does it always show the proper apparture ?

You are like photo-yoda, so much info and in very pleasant style of presenting it to us. And of that lady with Singers is so nice to listen to! Thank you for tips! PS: did you tried 150-600 yet?

Hi Kirk I know that my question has nothing to do with the video subject but I would verry appreciate that an answer from you. Thank you and have a nice day.

I'm sorry, but I don't go with the latest fad of photos telling a story. Books tell stories and so does the lady you are photographing as she speaks about the history of Singer. A photo only captures a moment in time and nobody could tell you what story that photo is supposed to be telling - Photos are for taking great shots of great subjects with great composition etc etc. They can't, don't, and never will tell a story.
