In the final round of the 2022 Fortinet Championship, Max Homa overcame a one-shot deficit on the 72nd hole to defeat Danny Willett in stunning fashion.

Three weeks after Rory McIlroy’s remarkable win at the TOUR Championship, the PGA TOUR returns to action in Napa, California, for the 2022 Fortinet Championship. Last year’s winner, Max Homa, will defend his title at Silverado Resort & Spa after an impressive fifth place finish in the 2021-22 FedExCup Standings. In 2021, the Californian carded back-to-back 7-under rounds to finish one shot clear of Maverick McNealy in second place. 2021 Masters winner Hideki Matsuyama will be teeing it up this week after finishing T11 at the TOUR Championship, despite missing the FedEx St. Jude Championship two weeks prior with a neck injury. 2020 Fortinet champion Stewart Cink will be looking to repeat an impressive win that saw him finish 21-under par, breaking the tournament record. A number of Korn Ferry Tour graduates will be making their debuts this week, including Justin Suh, who topped the combined points list for the 2022 season. Other notable names to look out for include five-time TOUR winner Rickie Fowler and 2015 PGA Championship winner Jason Day.

Pains me to watch the three putt from three feet but I imagine his body was shaking over those putts, nothing you can do about it, good win for Homa albeit in a crazy fashion

My heart goes out to Danny, I've been there. I was in a tight round and only needed a bogey to win on a par 3. First shot hit the windmill blade, the second putt hit the dinosaur's foot and the third grazed his tail. The fourth putt, a two-footer, looped around the cup and my red ball finally dropped in six. My wife beat me by one stroke and I took it hard. But, after a few months of therapy and anger management, I was finally able to play Prehistoric Putt-Putt again.

And Max doing the outro at the end is just another kick in the nuts for Danny

Give Willett credit he handled it like a pro. Lots of great players have missed short putts at crucial times.

Great respect for Willett, pure sportsman

I was pulling for Willett. I often pull for underdogs in those situations. Homa is a stud & will have an excellent career I believe. Willett needed that win for sure. Oh well, hang tough Mr Willett, you’ll get one soon!

The Great Jack Nicklaus said that after a competitive round of golf where you have done your best but lost say " well done" to your opponent, " mean it" and "remain friends". I think Danny has passed the test.

How could that happen? it started with Max's chip in, Danny's though process on HIS game was disrupted when Max holed out, the rest is history

Great respect to both players, and max for not cheering until after shaking everyone’s hands.

Danny looked happier than Max, that’s great.

When you can laugh off a three putt from three feet for 300 thousand dollars? That’s Baller.

Nothing BIZARRE about that finish. I three-putt 18 all the time when playing with the boys.

This is very common, putting is the most difficult part of golf especially the short putts

Danny was caught off guard by that hole out and got nerves. I would've expected better putting from a Master's champ. This is why you don't give any gimmes.

Homa excellent chip mesmerized him. This happens all the time. Though we are competing against the course but subliminally if your opponent is playing well it does affect your game too.

Too bad this wasn't on TV to watch. At least LIV had live coverage yesterday!

When you’re getting tired so go to bed after their second shots on 18 and then see this 🤯
