Sonic Adventure DX Light Speed Dash Upgrade Sonic

Now that we've completed Windy Valley Sonic has to make his way back to Station Square. We drop down into the sewers to get Sonic's first upgrade the Light Speed Shoes granting him the Light Speed Dash ability. Charge the Light Speed Dash with the Action Button (same button as charging a spin dash), and once it's fully charged Sonic will stop spinning and be covered in light blue. Continue to hold the Action Button until you reach a line of rings and release the Action Button to dash along them at high speed.

How impossible, I can't get out, the light dash doesn't propel me upwards like the video 😭

I walked up the rings but it wouldn't take me up. What other key do i need to press?

I held it until sonic stopped and went blue and went to the rings but it only took me up two rings please help😢
