Aries Spears on Why MadTV Ended After 14 Seasons, His Contract Not Renewed After Season 7 (Part 12)

In this clip, Aries Spears spoke about Mad TV being on for 14 years, and when speaking about its ending, Aries explained that it lost its steam, but he pointed out that it lasted longer than other sketch shows, aside from SNL. Aries then spoke about being on the show from season 3 to season 7, and he explained that his contract wasn't renewed, but Aries felt that the show was on its way out at that time.

MadTV was hands down funnier than SNL. They pushed the envelope and made no apologies for it. Miss Swan, Kathy the Vancome Lady, Stuart, and anything Phil Lamarr played were my favorite characters. Oh and fighting Ron too!

Im from Germany and when Mad Tv was on once a week late at night i put 4 hour tape in the VCR before bedtime and watched the recorded show asap next morning.

When I was 16, I spent a year in the U.S. and thats the first time I watched SNL. I could not believe how lame it was in comparison to MadTV.
