What people used to see in professional cameras became a reality when phone developers allowed you to zoom in 10x without losing quality. We're testing the king of zoom - the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, the 100x loaded Honor Magic 4 Pro, and the leading phone in the digital zoom category, the Google Pixel 6 Pro. Can the Google Pixel 6 Pro hang in there with it's signature Super Res Zoom against the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra? We're about to find out!

Just imagine Pixel has all the camera hardware as Samsung. They need to fine tune their algorithm though but given the price, if you can't afford the S22 Ultra, the Pixel Pro is a great alternative. Just wish Google is more serious in competing with the big boss instead of doing just enough.

I can give an Explanation of why the Honor keeps up fairly well in Zoom.

While having only 3.5 times Optical zoom, it does have with 1/2 a much greater sensor size than the Samsungs 10 times 1/3.52 Sensor.

You could say the Honor has 7 times Optical zoom as it will just switch the resolution to 64MP and get a 16MP crop without upscaling at 7 times zoom, on a slightly smaller than Samsungs Virtual Sensor then, being because it is still a crop just 1/4.

Samsung also used that trick on it's S21(+) and S22(+) because they both never had a Telephoto, and just cropped an 16MP Image out of their 64MP that has native no real difference in magnification than the Main camera.

Samsung could have just left out the main camera as the "Tele" was almost identical in magnification but then saying 30 times zoom sounds even less believable.

I like these comparison videos, however, you chose the s22 a couple of times where I found the Pixel much better. Slightly more grainy but much less processing with skin/ softening/haze, nevertheless, thanks for sharing

It's interesting these phones use telephone at dif times, like day vs night, and zoom range. Pixel 4x optical vs ultra 10x optical but 12mp i think vs google's 48mp optical zoom sensor.
