If you don’t want to go to the expense of a track saw there is a simple solution.
Use a straight piece of baton or a length of box tube steel as a guide rail by clamping it flat onto the sheet you want to cut.
The trick is to place your circular saw blade to the pencilled cutting line on one side,
Now clamp your guide baton tight o the saws edge,
next move to the other side of the sheet and do the same.
You now have the guide rail in place.
I Next push the circular saw tight to the rail and begin cutting.
You can use the same trick with a jigsaw.

I got a Japanese saw recently. Love it. I still don't know what I'm doing but it is more comfortable when I'm probably cutting before measuring.

Old time electrician....your flush cutters...we called them "dikes", short for diagonal cutters. Agree with your choices!! And please, never EVER practice before filming!! Just wouldn't be the same!!👍👍

Seeing your Japanese saw reminds me of the machete my grandma bought my hubby on a mission trip to Honduras that they use to clear jungle and whatever. I guess she thought it was cool and he did too but it’s sat in our shop for 25 years. 🤣🤣🤣
