Lost in Translation - 'Big in Japan' (Ane Brun)

One day I might wake up, but I'll never stop dreaming.

There's a theory knocking about that the characters within this film are dreamt up by one or the other (or both) in a bid to stave off loneliness at difficult points in their respective live's and relationships. They're never depicted having sex, nor is it implied; they seem to fill a void in each other that goes far deeper than carnal desire. It's a beautiful film. And of course, still no one knows what he whispers into her ear at the end; but the real beauty of that is that it will always be up to you to decide.
