How to plaster a spiral staircase ceiling.

Howdy Folks, all the basic tools we use and recommend on Amazon's website.
Kirk Giordano Plastering Inc.

For immediate bids, send pictures to Jay or myself at our sites below.

First, we covered everything as the tile floor was finished.
Then attached the 3.4 Diamond metal lath for this ceiling, as this lath is easily manipulated or contoured and is the best lath available for ornamental work and flat or contoured surfaces, and used as a reinforcing underlay for spray-applied fireproofing.
The small holes allow the plaster to mushroom above the metal lath, thus adhering it for life.

Jason, my son, plasterer, and cameraman, has plastered at least ten in just the last year of these fancy staircases and finished them with concrete plaster, that’s stucco. And some with just joint compounds. Too bad he’s unable to plaster and film himself.

More Ceilings are below.

We feel material knowledge is number one, and applications are secondary, as no matter how well you can tape or plaster, choosing the wrong material, you’ll be spinning your wheels.

Thank you all for watching.

I was a drywaller / finisher with over 40 years experience, done about maybe 4 of these, 2 of which I framed myself because the framers couldn't handle it. I specialized in what others couldn't do, miss it, thanks for sharing the video, brings back memories

Hello my friend another wonderful video. I like how you don't mind going at stuff the other people think they can't do. That's, experience, confidence, and someone who knows God got his back. I learn so much from you my friend thank God for you and your videos.

this is super common here in New England, I did probably a dozen or so of these last year but I've never been able to find a video on here to see how others attack these curved stairwells. wicked awesome job again kirk!

Man, been watching your videos for a while. I must of missed this one. Very cool Kirk.
I have made plenty of holes in wood lath plaster walls to mount electrical boxes (switches and outlets) when running cable. Was turned on to Struto-Lite years ago. Use it to fill in openings and finished with thin coat of joint compound. I never had to use tape. May be a few I had a crack in. Great stuff. Great video my brother.

I used to do round walls with 1/4" drywall.... soaked the sheets quickly in a swimming pool.... Then layered it 3 sheets thick on the framing! Bends real easy when its wet!
