"Pricking" sounds pretty nice. I did an allergy test way back then when I was a kid, and I'd rather say that they "shovel" my skin rather than "pricked". Basically they do a shallow stab with a syringe and then yank out the skin the way you'd shovel up dirt. They do the same thing to test for medicine allergies.

And out of 24 allergies that they tested me with, I got 13 of them positive.

It is quite possible for allergy tests to yield either wrong or inaccurate results. According to all the ones i've had, i should be allergic to cats to an extreme, and yet here i am, always with cats around me and not a single sign of an allergy =J
