Getting to know the Gakken Premium Theremin

The Gakken Premium Theremin is an affordable and highly playable battery operated theremin instrument. Unlike most theremins, it uses an armband contact instead of a connection to earth ground. It also features -
- coarse and fine controls for both pitch and volume antennae
- master volume
- 1/8" audio output jack
- instrument stand mounting thread

While maybe not SUPER affordable, professional theremins will set you back a LOT more than 140 dollars. It's fairly good quality for a fairly low price.

No health problem, but indicative of the fact that the instrument is not capable of adequate distance detection, as would be a better theremin with an electrical connection to true earth ground.

I've tried a profession Moog one [Etherwave Plus] at my local music store. It was fun and cool and everything but not worth $500+ Canadian.
