during the interview Sophie reveals that Drinkee was born of her first ever attempt at playing electric guitar. there's something really profound and magical about such an admission. the guitar community itself is mired in this never-ending obsession with speed and shredding and tone. but when you look at the kind of music that actually moves culture and stands the test of time; it's astoundingly simple and bare. where one artist spends 10, 000 hours attempting to master their instrument and craft their sound, another simply picks up a used axe and starts plucking away without any real plan or intention. and here she is, touring the world, inspiring millions of listeners. the key ingredient is passion and voice. no amount of time can make up for being passionate and having something to say.
