The people sleeping might have thought they died and went to heaven

For anyone looking for the piece, it is not Tchaikovsky. This is the Cherubic Hymn by Nikolay Golovanov. :)

Imagine walking in to get a room not knowing you're about to get saved.

The sound of a Russian Orthodox hymn is absolutely unmistakable - the very close, gentle dissonances that inspire and reflect the mystery of the divinity of Christ

This is the thing I miss most from my life. Being a part of a choir that as individuals is capable of producing beautiful music, but together…together a well synchronized chorus calls down the songs of the angels to bless the firmament with harmonic melodies that bring tears of joy to the eyes of the face of god.

Now imagine if we all collectively come together and do this everyday. With no more violence, worrying, or drama. Just peace, love, happiness, and harmony. That would be heaven on earth.

This song was so fun to perform on the balcony. It was an honor to work with such talented men, as well as Dr. Jensen.

my all-state choir was cancelled this year because of covid-19. listening to things like this remind me of how important music & its impact is, especially in a time like this. thank you.

Listening to this 2 years after I first heard it and I still tear up. The beauty and feeling put into the piece and dynamics.

This is why I love hotels with tall lobbies. There is no better feeling than singing in a choir with acoustics like this.

This was honestly one of the coolest experiences I have ever been in singing in a choir.

The VOICE is still the most beautiful musical instrument...love chorale compositions...sang high soprano in A Capella Choir for several years...an experience like no other.

The cherubic hymn (many versions but all have the same lyrics) are sung during every Orthodox Liturgy…during a procession called ‘The Great Entrance’.
English:
“We who mystically represent the Cherubim and sing to the life-giving Trinity the thrice-Holy Hymn. Let us now lay aside all earthly cares, that we may receive the King of all, escorted invisibly by angelic hosts. Alleluia”

In this dire time of preparing for a pandemic, this is a reminder of beauty, and a call to look up, to trust a higher power that holds us in life, in death, and in eternal life. Well done, lads.

Oh, gentlemen! That was outstanding. Highest marks. In this time of coronavirus lockdown the world needed something as beautiful as that to remind us that there is hope for the future. Well done!
