Patiently waiting for an upgrade to Avantage line of home theater receivers. If anyone has heard anything would love to know. Sorry I missed this live stream. Yamaha fan for over 40 years.

As a hs8 owner. I’m hoping one day they make a 3 way coax mid n high with a high powered sealed woofer monitor. With low latency dsp and a high powered woofer. Ya know. Premium

Yamaha speakers were highly under-rated bargains when they lowered their prices massively 20 years ago. I believe they were trying to get a piece of the new home theater market which would require more speakers purchases and therefore they were trading pricing for volume sales. Probably a low marketing budget and perception by consumers with the low pricing meaning not as good they didn't get a lot of attention. They have now reverted back to higher pricing to pay for the increase marketing and appeal to the audiophile price snobery.

Yamaha was the inventor of the sound bar for home theater surround sound with patented technology and I don't think they ever got the attention they deserved. Everybody else copied them with inferior technology.

Hi-Fi is short for high fidelity. It’s confusing what he is saying. Did Yamaha first use high fidelity (term) on that 1954 device? or *invent* high fidelity? (that can’t be it) or; was Yamaha the first to shorten the term to Hi-Fi and use it as a marketing hook? and it has nothing to do with increased musical quality or Yamaha inventing that “tech”. So they put a badge on a record player in 1954. Nothing to toot a horn about and totally unnecessary branding history from a very good brand.
