Very close match. I'd say Turks HP makes them better against units with bonus damage, while the Tatars silk armour also gives them very good lancers and scouts. I prefer Tatars personally but they're both top tier along with Magyars.

Sick, I've been wondering about this matchup for a while!

well, they both take out each other in the same number of hits(20), it all depends on who it first so the matchup could go either way but would love to see how they fare against magyar's hca

HOLY SHIT, DUDE, this was so evenly matched!
Definitelly one of the best VS videos you've ever made!

Both CA are insanely good. From personal experience the Tatar CA are just easy to get to because they don’t really need a castle in order to be super effective fast.

Both techs are amazing but on practical sense CA is all about getting a mass ASAP so they can be effective against kts and also crossbows.

Tatar CA is very easy to mass because they win castle age fights easier because of free thumb ring and that can snowball.

Obviously Turks late game is insane but their CA is much harder to get to. And if you’re investing into stone you’re probably going for a janissary push in Castle age anyways.

crazy how one pierce armor can make such a difference, and also remember that this is on flat ground so the tartars don't have their extra attack bonus

This matchup is a tie, since both cav archers die in 20 hits. See the math below:
Turks: 100hp / (11attack - 6 armor) = 20 hits to die
Tatars: 80htp / (11attack -7armor) = 20 hits to die

Sipahi (Turk) cost less than Silk armor (Tatar). But Tatars also get thumbring and parthian tactics for free. Very evenly matched I would say

This is a battle of true hp(Turks)
Vs effective hp or armour (tartars)
I’d still take a Turk over a tartar because 20 hp is better vs bonus damage than 2 armour

Both have their advantages though. Turk ones can survive one more camel attack( 5 instead of 4). Surprisingly though both can take the same amount of hits from halberdiers(3) and Turk ones can take only one more hit from Elite Skirmishers( 15 instead of 14). So basicaly Turks are better vs melee units( 1 armour vs melee is worse than 20hp) and siege where armour does not matter as much. Tatars are better vs Arbalesters, taking random shots from Town Centers, get thumb ring and pathian tactics for free instantly+ they are way better for using hills since the Tatars deal an extra 25% bonus damage from top of them.

Still I think the best Heavy Cavalry Archer is the Magyar one, because they are overall better at what cav archers should do: deal more damage from behind or with micro+ they take out villagers one hit sooner.

Can you do Magyar cav arch vs Mangudai? As Magyar should have the strongest cav archers

I've been waiting for this match for a long time. And I think turks CA can do better than tatars CA against Skirmishers. Now I just waiting to see Teutons Champions vs Bulgarians Long Swords with that armor tech

Hey Mike how do you control both sides?

A 200 vs 200 couldn't be more even.

So just some randomness that choose the winner, as they both take the same amount of hits.

Why u using agresivr attack stance instead of patrol??

Your description still has the total resources description 11

is there nothing you can do about the units that give up and stop firing? It's definitely messing with numbers here

aliceliddell

That is reasonable but Tatar ca are more practical

they finish each other in the same amount of hits, , tatars have 7 pa so they receive 4 dmg, having 80 hp take 20 shots to die, , , turks have 6 pa so they get 5 dmg per shot, having 100 hp, it take s20 shots to die, , overall as even as u can get maybe comparing these two units in the late castle age might be different
