The dumbest part of this video is to show how to remove yellowed oil from a yellow/orange/red/brown painting. Really??? Come on guys!

That seemed like a bit of oil painting in the cloth

Badly done video. NO INFORMATION or listing of, or even speaking the NAME OF CLEANING SUBSTANCE. Waste of time here.

The rag shows yellow, how do you know that is not the yellow paint instead of dirt/grime?

NO...you DONT do this. You use a small brush and only do a small section of the same color with the brush then you use a cotton wrapped on a stick or whatever you prefer to slowly remove the stuff you just put in. What she used is a common product sold that contains amonia and needs to be shaked a lot. It works ok for non expensive or not old paintings. But if you have an old painting you want to clean yourself please don t do what she did. You need at least 3 steps: 1 clearner and varnish remover then the actual products that cleans the oil paint THEN the product in step 1 to STOP the cleaning process. Its not hard but it is not as simple as what this woman did

its very expensive to have a pro clean a painting I have paintings that are worth 1200 and up and cost hundards to thousends to have repaired and cleaned. its not worth it most of the time simply for the fact a painting say that's worth 1200$ will only sell on average for $300 art in resale never brings much inless its a million dollar painting.

Why does “e-how” always make such un-useful videos?
