It’s not a big surprise but when your top shooting guard statistics go down year after year! Looks like he plays video games more than he works out! You won’t get the athleticism needed to run a 2-3 zone! It’s unfortunate when you see a senior that can not even keep his arms out to run the 2-3!

The Syracuse AD and Chancellor have to sit him down and give him the ultimatum…Either retire or you’re gonna be fired. Enough is enough. He’s a crotchety old man, he’s burying the program and he’s tarnishing whatever legacy he has left. Clean house on the coaching staff and bring in fresh blood.

Ok, this is the bottom line and the truth...the 2-3 zone was, WAS, amazing...in the late 80's-early 2010's...back when you could back it in and dare teams to shoot that outside shot...Well, the game has changed, instead of trying to get as close to the rim as you can for a dunk, it is now see how far away from the basket you can get but still make it consistently...people are going to say you need the size and wing-span to play a good zone...yup, you need two guards that are 6'6 or taller up top...look at who starts and plays the most mins, the past 4 years who should be coming off the bench as instant offense, but he starts and gets a ton of mins, for 4 years...you need consistent mobility and activity from your 6'9-6'10 forwards who like to block shots and rebound, REBOUND being a Key...And a legit shot blocker to hunker down the middle, the team has that, but that is about it on D....I have said this for years, and it keeps playing out right before our eyes on the court, When teams step on the court and they get 2 steps from half court towards their basket, they are now in range...soon a normal 3 will be from the other teams side of the court, but there will be our D, Our 2-3 Zone D, not even on that side of the court...You get the picture, teams can just stand from 30 ft away, make a couple of passes and shoot that 35 ft shot with ease, and it goes in, imagine that....I mean how many times have we seen that one random opponent with a total of 2-3 point shots made for their career and the kid plays against the vaunted 2-3 zone and drops 8-3's and goes for a career high 29 points...and he comes in off the bench....I would say it seems like every year that happens...not to mention, look at the teams they are loosing against...Bryant??? who in the hell is Bryant??? Colgate??? really....See, I live in the SouternTier of this once great state...I went to the Bona-Cuse game a couple of years ago, the OT game, when Bona won...that should have been a sign right then and there that something was amiss with the Orange...Not to mention loosing out on recruits to smaller schools...SU is nothing like it once was, and neither is the Zone...Jim needs a snickers...get out of the Zone Jim, you were in the Zone for way to long...come on man.
God Loves YOU...

Thank you for everything you've done for the program. Please retire.

News flash. The zone defense is high school. The NCAA three-point line is an easy jumpshot in the NBA. And even the mediocre players now playing in college are looking to make the leap to the pros by the time they’re sophomores. so basically, basketball has figured out how to beat Syracuse. You just shoot three pointers. All you need to do is hit a couple here and there and suddenly Syracuse is down by double digits. Jim Boeheim has used this his whole career at Syracuse and refused to actually allow his players to play like the NBA they actually trying to get into. It’s arrogant, insulting to the players themselves, and gross negligence for such a hefty school program.

We’ve spent a lot of time on our defense and it’s worst. I guess that sums it up..oh why is that he is ask. I don’t know. Last week he was asked why they don’t play man because we can’t he said. Well if you can’t play man and you can’t play zone and you don’t know why you can’t be better then I guess you have to options retire or find another job. He is brilliant at assessing the game of basketball, being a analyst on TV would be a great job for him.

This is the 20 year anniversary of Chip! Great! Since getting into ACC we have never been significant. Not sure who the next coach is but I think we should try. We might have to go through one or two terrible coaches before we find a good one but we will lose too many players each year to ever have sustained goodness until we make change.

361st in 3s made against SU. 362nd on 3 pt attempts. 356th on offensive rebounds. The zone is not working!!!

Ok enough is enough. For the love of the ORANGE....Once JB goes, everyone else needs to go...clean slate. If the assistant coaches cant develop these players then why consider them as a Head Coach? Bring in a new coach from the outside.

Jim, it's time. The players clearly are not responding to you. Your recruiting has eroded significantly. It's time. Don't make it get ugly. Please make this year your last.

As an SU fan my whole life I’ve always taken pride in the toughness and fight of our players. This years team has got to be the weakest mentally and physically I’ve ever seen. Other than Judah and Joe everyone else on this team is mentally weak. I’ve seen it a lot in the whole culture of basketball in the last 10 years. Unfortunately I only see it getting worse.

The kids got to get their heads out of their asses too. They are not playing the way their taught. This is not all on coach. I'm not sticking up for JB, just the way it is

Jessie edwards thinks everything is a joke he needs killer mentality then we would be dangerous and I like Bell he has high in and shooting is next level

His sticking with the zone at this point is absolutely pointless & his team is NOT that young. He starts 2 seniors, 1 sophomore & a freshman that plays way beyond his years. I think the players have given up on the whole system

Time for changes:
1. A new coach (someone from the outside or the slide into oblivion will continue.
2. Get out of the ACC. The move there didn't benefit either football or basketball. And it sure didn't benefit the fans.
When you have a coach that recruited the highest scoring player in NYS history and ruins him by making him a point guard...

I am an absolute diehard fan. I watched this game on my phone during work tonight and I am increasingly disgusted with what Boeheim has done to this program. He is a legend and put this program on the map. But we need fresh blood. Give this team to any other coach in the ACC and we're a tournament team. Period end of story. Jim, it's time to go. Time for Wildhack to bring in someone who can bring this program to where it deserves to be.
