Another detailed video. I appreciate how you care about people's emotional and menatl health when it comes to cosmetic procedures.

I absolutely adore how you comment on self esteem with procedures. I am not ready for botox and fillers but I have been plagued by spider veins since I was 12 (tennis injury started it all). I will say the older I get the less I care but to say it doesn't bother me at all would be a lie. My dad (who is my family practitioner) always told me to look in the mirror and be grateful because I had clear skin and a pretty face---he might be biased ;). I am so blessed to have wonderful and encouraging parents. Keep up the awesome videos!

I’m enjoying these videos. It’s nice to see a professional skin doctor that addresses the emotional impact of skin conditions and how it affects an individual — treating the whole person (mind and body) is so important. I have had a couple doctors that haven’t addressed or dismissed it when I mention the embarrassment of a skin condition called DSAP.

I had Sclerotherapy several times for varicose veins and spider veins. It was very effective for me. Varicose veins took two treatments and spider veins one treatment to completely remove all of them. There was no pain at all. Cost is much less then lasers. Wearing complexion stockings was uncomfortable. 3 days for 24 hours and 4 days only during the day. Get ones with no footing.

I had laser ablation done and as long as they give you enough anesthesia, you do not feel the laser. The painful part was the anesthesia injection. It burns for about 10 -15 seconds during the injection.
Some insurances WILL cover varicose veins (not spider veins), because of the potential problems they can lead to. My insurance (GHI) covers it after testing to deternine the extent of the damage to a vein. I use heavy dishwashing gloves (I saw it in a youtube video) to help me put on compression stockings.

Varicose veins on my lower leg made me so miserable so I got the operation . It really was the best thing I have ever done . A little sore after for a few days but well worth the pain !!!

There are compression stockings that are fairly easy to put on. People don’t need to buy the extremely tight ones. There are differently levels of compression for the stockings. People just need to figure out what’s best for them. I personally find them comfortable and love the squeeze from when I first put them on and the release from finally taking them off after 12 hours. It’s also pleasant to look down and not see swollen legs after working all night. They’re great for 8hr shifts too. You can find affordable stockings at Walmart that don’t have an intense squeeze.

I had Radiofrequency ablation treatment which is different from laser ablation. It is basically pain free. It was uncomfortable but not painful. The spot was sore for about 24 hours and tender for a week or so. The doctor was able to close the bad vein in my right leg and I didn't form any new knots since then (it has been 3 years). While at it, the doc stripped the vein around my knee which improved the look. My right leg is perfect. The problematic vein in my left leg, however, couldn't be closed all the way because it was too narrow. It still helped a bunch but I have some new knots forming. I am planning to check it out again and see what can be done. This procedure is not cosmetic. It was a treatment and was covered by insurance. I had a significant reduction in pain.

I appreciate your honest Dr Dray. I spent last 20 yrs standing on concrete for 20 yrs and just now seeing signs of varicose veins . lucky I do not have to stand in one place like thatnow but I kinda knew that not much could be done once I started seeing them. I like pressure stockings as well .

dr. dray! i honestly don't know what i did before i found you, which was recently. your product suggestions have calmed my rosacea. i have two varicose veins in one leg, and although i'm hardly a vain person, they make me self-conscious. i live in l.a., so there are many vein treatment clinics and specialists. just when i think i'm ready to do something about them, i read a bad review and become terrified. there's talk of tremendous pain and how they'll return, worse! but quarantine is an ideal time to get this done, and i am a tough cookie. can you please hold my hand and tell me it's going to be OK? thanks!
