Bought by Anthony Beck for R325 000 at the 2017 Emperor’s Palace National Yearling Sale, CELTIC SEA, amassed stakes of R3.3M over the 4 seasons she raced. Not a bad return on investment!
The beautiful dark bay filly may have appeared demure in her stable and at home, but she knew when to turn it on. Her acceleration and courage endeared her to fans, with her winning 8 graded races; the most number of graded races for any progeny of her Champion Sire, Captain Al.
She was one of those special fillies who touched the lives of all those who came into contact with her.
We pay tribute to this magnificent mare and wish Anthony and Angela Beck of Gainesway Farm in Kentucky, every success as she embarks on her new career as a broodmare.
