My kitchen is growling at me - BIG MALE LION interrupt guys coffee routine

Let's hear from Dylan Panos himself:
WHAT IS BHEJANE NATURE TRAINING? We are a Nature Guide Training company, and we train students to become professionally qualified Nature Guides, Trails Guides, and Marine Guides in Southern Africa. We offer the well-known FGASA (Field Guides Association of Southern Africa) set of qualifications.

Interview with Dylan Panos:
What were your initial thoughts when you woke up to find the lions? Did the noise wake you or did you walk into the kitchen and notice them?

We woke up early in the morning with a group of 8 lions moving through camp. They were very vocal, so we were all well aware of their presence just outside our tents. The students were all safely escorted to the Game Viewing vehicle to drive around camp and to see the lions. The lions moved through the camp ( we also have footage of this if needed), and once they moved to behind the Kitchen building we could no longer see them. Dylan at this point moved around to the kitchen to see where they went while the students were still safe with instructor Emilio van Dyk in the vehicle. As he approached the building he saw the male through the mesh covering and realized that the female was lying just below the wall close to the building as well.

Were you frightened? Please elaborate on why or why not.

I was not frightened - I am after all trained to live and work around these animals, but I was very cautious – one would never approach mating lions since they are prone to showing aggression – however, we did want to encourage them to move off for the safety of the camp and to gain access to the kitchen obviously.

Some comments on Facebook indicate the windows are only covered in wire mesh no glass is that correct? Is there a special reason for this?

Yes, it is an open building as you will see in some of the other clips – there are no doors and the windows have only mesh covering. This is just because it is a rustic bush camp and we try to make do with minimum infrastructure there. We are all aware that the camp is open and everyone knows to be on guard and have good situational awareness at all times – this is after all what the students are training for, to be able to take their guests eventually into unspoiled wild areas – so to know how to do this safely, they must be able to live in such open camps, and know how to behave if an animal encounter does occur.

Did you get your coffee lol?! Yes – definitely got a nice cup of coffee!!

About Everseen Africa Lion Seekers
Pure passion and dedication brought us to this point and we decided it's time to share the most iconic sightings in Africa with our followers. We are an ethical Safari company that always strives to give back to the environment and help people to be closer to animals. The purpose of the channel is to show what it is like to experience seeing wild animals on an African safari. Wildlife Documentaries are often highly edited to tell a story, wildlife safaris are not, and the idea here is to show the wildlife sightings the way they were seen. Safari tours in Africa are generally suitable for all ages and this channel can be considered an educational channel about incredible nature, some scenes in the nature videos may be more graphic than people are used to but this is the reality of nature and is what you would see if you were present on such a safari in person. Safaris in South Africa, Keyna, Botswana, or any other African country are a once-in-a-lifetime experience for anyone with a passion for nature, wildlife photography, and travel. Hopefully, the animal videos on this channel can provide a glimpse into what the nature experience is like and encourage more people to take a wildlife safari one day. No way in hell I’d live someplace where a lion can just walk up to my kitchen window.

That roar rattles you right to the bone!! A primitive human instinct that switches on to acknowledge the lion truly is the king of the jungle!!

They are insanely loud in real life. If you ever get a chance to see a lion in a zoo or a reserve, try looking them in the eye. I did around 10 years ago. The lion was behind the cage and was angry af! He was growling at people and when i looked him in eye, it just evoked a deep fear within me. Majestic animal!!

If anybody's ever heard a lion roar even quietly it's pretty amazing even from quite a bit of ways it shakes you it's like hearing an earthquake or thunder.
