Fusion 360 - Wrapped 2D Sketch Geometry

Показать описание
A quick video on how to properly wrap a 2D sketch onto a cylinder using Fusion 360 Ultimate.

This example uses exploded text but the principles are going to be the same for just about any wrapped geometry that isn't modeled.

It also turns out the Unwrap Geometry using a Sketch is a bug, and expected to be released in March or soon thereafter, but consider this a good lesson in checking the Compare and Edit dialogue for all sorts of tucked-away settings that can be manipulated when needed.

Hey, great video! I was wondering if it would be possible to move the model back to the modeling workspace after engraving so that you could 3-D print it. Is there anyway to do this?

Any chance this works with a simple line? I can't for the life of me get a line to work on a round part. I've tried using it flat, from an offset plane, projected onto the part...nothing seems to work :(

I have been looking for a way to properly wrap text on fusion for so long. All the tutorials say you have to either emboss or project to surface; both of these methods warp the sketch and do not allow for wrapping all the way around a cylinder. This video is literally the only one I have found with proper text wrapping. Do you know if there is any way to do this outside of CAM?
