In what situations in railroading are dynamic brakes useful? Or in other words, in what situations would it be more wise to use dynamics instead of the air brakes? Maybe there are situations for both?

pilot applies Dynamic Brake to stop the train. Dynamic braking is the use of the electric traction motors of a railroad vehicle as generators when slowing the locomotive. It is termed rheostatic if the generated electrical power is dissipated as heat in brake grid resistors, and regenerative if the power is returned to the supply line. Dynamic braking lowers the wear of friction-based braking components, and additionally regeneration can also lower energy consumption.

Iam very much proud of choosing loco pilot, why iam teeling they are sincere they run the loco with the coach with signal same time they are very brave responsible the people to take one place to another without accident and reach in correct place in time, and same they adjust the time if late they increase the speed of loco

Pretty sure dynamic break should only be used in conjunction with the auto break for slowing a train going down hill, the dynamics shouldn't be used to slow a train down on a strait from that type of speed instead he should've only used the auto break
