I roomed with this guy for 3 days on a fishing shoot in Oklahoma. One of the greatest men I ever met. Walking into a restaurant with him was like walking in with John Wayne. Everybody loves this man.

It was a honor to be able to hear this man’s story. This podcast is the standard for bigger podcasts.

This is one of the best/most interesting interviews I've seen in a long time. What a feel good interview. Manny is a national treasure. He should be conservation czar for the US. He's the most reasonable and realistic naturalists I have listened to in decades.

My grandad spent 17 years in jail after the revolution. He was some low level guy in Batista's army, they were going to execute him by firing squad, but he was such a nice guy and so helpful to everyone in town that the people begged for his life and he was put in jail instead. He finally got to leave Cuba in 77. All Cubans have stories like this, this is why we are so against communism.

As a muskie fisherman who is always looking bigger prey I think I just found a new hero. This guy needs his own show.

I have shared this great story telling with both of my beautiful sons. My oldest born in Florida and my youngest born in Hawaii. They’re aware of these incredible stories. This was my first time hearing them. I’m literally in awe. Thank you.

Great interview; Manny is a good, decent human being, who has led a very interesting life mixing it with wildlife and nature. It was great to listen too. Also though, he is very humble and loves Jesus. You're alright, Manny. ☺

Totally agree with Mani… there shd be spearing ‘seasons’ or competitions a certain time each year to keep shark populations balanced. This is done with deer, bears, etc. more sharks attacking humans because the shark populations are growing and their food sources are diminishing because of this growth.

I am a 70 yo woman who was amazed this, I listened several times. I'm so fascinated, and to think of what a strong Christian h
MANNY is. He turns the conversation to the Lord! Thankful the Lord spared your life so far for you to " tell of the wonderful things He has done"!

I actually did some diving with Manny and Megan down in the Florida Keys.... From Big Pine Key out to Looe Key about 20-30 years ago. My dad and I drove down to Florida from Connecticut. I had never heard of Manny before that. We went out on a dive boat from Big Pine Key. He was freediving ( no tanks ) He was probably in his prime at that point. Manny had the moniker of "Tarzan of the Keys" back then. He was very kind and soft spoken just like he represents in this video. A very spritual person. After the boat dive he honored me with about a 1/2 hour of one on one talking. He took good interest of my extensive diving in Long Island Sound. My friend and I were always were always fabricating all types of contraptions which I shared and showed Manny. He showed me his scars from the 5 different shark species. He said his simplistic life style allowed him to put all his earthly possessions in a box he could pick up and walk away from anywhere and anytime. He had a small group of friends like Megan Haney-Grier and such as he was basically a shy guy . It was a true honor to have met him the way I did. It was also an overall great time to be diving with my Dad at this time as well. We went 2 years in a row both in February which in itself was a treat getting away from Connecticut for a couple of weeks in one of the coldest and icy months of the year. Great memories .
