If you were ever interested in doing some timelapse photography, this is my review of some of the kit I've used recently. :-)

It doesn't matter if DSLR's, GoPro's, or laptops are "better".  The Brinno cameras can be mounted in a housing and left for over two months.  That's what makes them such an appealing product.  I wish they were able to shoot 1080, though.  And the image quality isn't that great.  I'd pay a couple hundred bucks more for a better sensor and 1080HD output.

My first advice would be to get a good webcam, the Microsoft Lifecam Studio is one of the best out right now. And for editing video, nothing is better than Adobe Premiere - that software has a separate timelapse import function, where you simply pick the folder with the pictures, and it imports them onto the timelime as 5 seconds video clips (arranged by name), after that simply CTRL+A of the timeline and change the duration of them to anything you want (1/24, 1/30, etc, of a second).

Thanks for your video. I have some questions. I want you to take only one photo a day, can you zoom in? Or if not, in the edition, does it have enough quality to cut the image? I can put it at 1m and I would photograph a cactus graft from a 5cm coin that in 6 months would be like a golf ball. Can I feed it with rechargeable batteries and occasionally connect a powerbank to recharge it? it is very important that it does not move at all. Can I put in a card that I have 256gb? Thank you for your attention

I'm thinking about getting this for one of my channels. Basically putting it outside, and showing a planet growing, or bees going in and out.

How much memory is 1 days worth at every 5 min?

After seeing you doing this a few years ago, I did the same thing with a webcam (SD at the time). I ended up writing a simple script for mencoder (on Linux) that would drop a bunch of frames then include one, effectively taking a video from the camera without using an intermediate jpg format and keeping disk space (and disk thrash!) down. I'm sure there is some different software that outputs to video directly for Windows, but I don't use that...

i need to make night timelapses and preferably upload them online automatically. Do you know how does brinno work with usb connection? Is it possible to guide it for long exposure interval shots with external program like flix?

its 2019 now, does brinno upgrade or has product that is better than brinno tlc 200 pro?

Isn't it possible to press the ok button or another button on the TLC200 Pro so the screen lights up and you can look at the battery gauge? Or maybe you can't do that without interrupting the recording?

Or you could use an iPhone running through a timelapse app... I've gotten very decent timelapses with my iPod Touch but it's a battery drainer, and if you don't have an immediate power supply it runs for a couple of hours at most.

I understand that optics is a physics field  ....but you are in nuclear field, and particle don't want a lecture in geometry...I've   learned that in high school, just do some forefront physics....in layman terms ...and We all will be happy...!!!!

I'd use a real camera - the quality of the image will likely be higher - some sort of Sony, Panasonic or Canon in the same basic price range would give substantially higher quality results and give MP4 or MOV files with a higher bitrate.
