My review of Remi Brague's brilliant (if difficult to read) work of historical philosophy.

Books mentioned:
-Dominion by Tom Holland
-A Secular Age by Charles Taylor
-Proper Confidence by Lesslie Newbigin
-Honest Religion for Secular Man by Lesslie Newbigin

This is the third part of Rémi Brague "trilogie", which is basically an history of the way humanity understood itself in relation to the world and the divine. I still have to get my head around it! The idea that modernity failed because it miss something to anchor itself too, which would give it legitimacy, like a orphan torturing himself with the question of wether he was a product of love or randomness, is quite strong.
