"unintended vehicle behaviour"

Sure Polyphony. If that's the case, explain the sonic boom audio that occurs when the vehicle blasts off to space then? 🤔😂

It’s probably more like iRacing where you don’t use 100% brake pressure. I found that using 80% or less can help with rotation. The cars are still set up for understeer though.

I honestly think they’ve done a decent job on trying to make the game ‘realistic’ - that is the idea. Trail braking and understeer is very hard to get right in real life, so it should be hard to do on a driving simulator game. Unfortunately for me on controller, its less playable 😢. As an A rated driver - I have found adapting very difficult, but I will still keep trying.

I like the update. I find myself playing AC or ACC more often just because of the weird things that are required from you in GT7 to be fast. The snappy turn-in that all of the fast players do is unintuitive and clumsy if you're used to how a car is supposed to handle. One of my main complaints about this game has been the unrealistic amount of speed someone can carry through a corner, and its finally been fixed. +1 in my book. 5:45 is a perfect example - you shouldnt be able to crank the steering at that speed and not expect understeer. Good job devs

Humorously, by giving the AI 19 of these buses, I was able to watch a Frenchman ascend to a speed of 202 *million* kilometers per hour.

The instantaneous acceleration from 0 to 18% of the speed of light slowed down the flow of time itself for the frenchman, as the law of relativity is accurately modeled in this simulator.

Oh, and so are sonic booms of vehicles exceeding Mach 1 speed.

I just wish one thing. I wish PD were transparent with their patch notes. I wish they've explained the physics, how does it work and what is it we should expect. Yet alas, all the documentation releases are as ambiguous and unclear as they ever were.

Budget wheel user here.
Limited testing so far, but I feel I have much more control of the car after the update. Oversteer doesn't feel so random anymore and I find I can save the car more reliably. TC 1 was necessary for me pre update, but TC 0 feels pretty good now

I always knew I watched Thomas the Sambabus as a kid and no locomotive!

Turning corners with a controller is now a nightmare, especially with the new eiger track in reverse

Interestingly, you can even see this suspension bug even in the trailer when the Impreza appears, its front axis suffers a sudden compression before the jump, and you can see the front right tyre instantaneously compressing in one frame of that trailer.

The new physics to me feel a lot more like other sims and less like an arcade.. I feel like i can manipulate the cars in the same way i do a real life car on a track. I think the cars now feel like they have a sense of momentum and a weight.

As a controller user I hate this update. They went way too hard making the cars soft, it's like they put trampolines in instead of shocks. The cars just bounce all over the road and pitch back and forth way too much, and don't even get me started on the understeer, just horrendous. Also some cars PP level is now just an exclamation mark and I can't use it unless I detune it, like my 800+PP C7 ZR1

It's really odd, it encourages you to use throttle and/or brakes more to turn the car. The braking is really unnatural feeling, stamp and release needs a different pattern than before. The nose just doesn't want to turn. Feels like they remodelled diffs as well

A random suggestion, but maybe try completing some of the gold license challenges with the new physics to see if they got impossibly harder.

Everything seems to have much more noticeable understeer now, which is taking some getting used to, for me.
It almost feels like this update was designed purposely to try and mix up the metas for daily races

If you forget that it is a game and instead adjust yourself to driving a real car - you will be fine. The cars are much more responsive in a natural way and much less responsive in the digital way.
Now you need to work with the car, collaborate with it, instead of just constantly pushing and commanding it.
Love the update. Enjoying driving so much now.

So hard braking causes understeer, and abusing the grass and curbs upsets the cars? Wow, no wonder all the boo hoos from the masses who would rather “game” the game than drive a more realistic model

I find that not applying 100% brakes on corner entry leads to far more oversteer than when I go full on. If ever I want to induce understeer I just mash the brakes. On throttle feels more progressive to induce oversteer. I'm using medium ABS, no TC or stability control, and all on controller.

It’s bumpy as hell on the nordschleife now.
But it’s bloody fun to slide a lot of corners with new physics 😅
