The Inside Man: The SSA Scam

The most devastating thing for a scammer isn't me viewing their computers; it's someone pretending to be a scammer, but is really working against scammers. Here, Jaani and Max help to bring down an SSA scam in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Great to see that young man recognising that he's a scammer. That poor woman sounded so worn down by these evil people. Thankfully, you got in touch with the man. You do great work Jim.

At least they are being tortured with those awful office chairs.

I don't think showing the identity of the one exposing the scam centers is a safe call, we are still dealing with criminals here, i'm just worried about the guys safety now :/

Honestly, I don't know why the US government doesn't put out PSA's about this. I don't have a TV set, so maybe they do; but I doubt it. The elderly don't do much research on their computers, but they DO watch a lot of TV. Public Service Announcements about this would be something I'd LOVE my tax dollars to be spent on. That poor woman sounds like she could die from the stress they are loading onto her.

It’s sad that one man is doing more against this problem then the whole of our government.

Hearing Dorothy say "I am just tired" makes me real sad. You know there's many of her kind going through this.

The old fella still has his Irish accent all those years later in the US. I'd hope Jim's accent played a part in reassuring him!

That Irish guy moved to America and got to live the American dream, ended up a millionaire and the poor guy almost lost it. You're a gift to humanity Jim.

Jim, you are nothing short of a Godsend. When that man mentioned that he had $1.8 million in savings I easily heard the scammers almost jump with joy. That is when my heart sank. Then you step in and practically save that man's life. Earlier this year, my mother received a copy of the AARP magazine and you were the featured article. As I was reading the article, I told my mom that I watch your videos religiously on YouTube and that you are the real deal. And you are. Keep up the awesome work.

In December of 2019 you helped an older lady in my small little town in Tennessee named Kathleen. You kept her from getting scammed, thank you for what you do jim browning.

If your social security benefits are "suspended" the only way to resume them is to go to your local office. You also wouldn't get a phone call, but a letter in the mail explaining the reason your benefits are suspended.
