Thanks for answering my question! 😊, certain direct injection gasoline engines are prone to the wall wetting wear issue, these engines pass emissions initially, but let them do some mileage and then they fail.
As Lake said, it must be possible to obtain an improved suitable bore finish /ring combination than factory.
