We often treat people or react to people based on what we see “on the surface.” But what if we got to know their story on a personal level and found out about their heart and soul? We would probably be more encouraging and have a lot more compassion for them. We never know what’s going on in someone’s life—the heartaches, the personal struggles, the disappointments, the failures, etc. Those things lay beneath the surface. But what if we could draw out those things in a way that resulted in genuine, Christ-like compassion for them? Wouldn’t that reflect Jesus better than reacting and getting frustrated about someone’s actions or behavior? This is the angle that Pastor Gary takes in our study through the book of Haggai, and he shares his own personal encounter with a woman from Auschwitz whom the Lord used to teach him about these truths.

By the way, I believe in Miracles. In 1993 I raced to save my dad from a propane explosion, he died, I had 2 % chance of living and they told my family I would not and could not. But I was asking God and letting Him know I still needed to be here long enough to raise my child. He was just going into hi school when school started up. Anyway many churches across the country prayed and sent cards, most uplifting. A window like a plate glass door or window appeared in the fire, I could see where to run. This is a long story but I’m still alive and I finished raising my son thanks to my Heavenly Father. My husband was outside the fire screaming at God to please no. Plus a lot of other words. You never know what you might encounter in our time on earth. Thanks again. Loved this one, touched my heart and soul ❤

You did a great job on this. Thank you. Such truth, so many times just a little encouragement and checking on those whose papers might be laying around or the grass too tall. I lost an aunt in such a way. We were in different states but her sister, another aunt assured others she checked on her everyday. But she had died 10 days before she was found. So everyone needs to ck and give encouragement. I’ll listen to this one again. Brought tears to my eyes. It’s real life. I’m sure others can identify and take this teachings to heart. Thanks again.🙏

Thank you Pastor for this message. I was learning about Haggai until I came to the overdressed lady. Though 4 years ago it tore through my heart today. Just like the book of Haggai, it was dated, but the message isn't outdated. That lady's story, isn't outdated. Thank you. From a servant of God.

Your story is an encouraging factor for us pastor, Jesus brought you and her together so you'll repent and love her as Christ loves us, I'm sure God's forgiven you when you repented back then 😊

Praying for us all to not judge people by the surface, Holy Spirit work within us Lord 🙏❤️

A wonderful sermon God gave you on this day. It is so easy to judge others- the girl at the fast food place who is rude, the relative who is short with e everyone, the teenagers who is all grunged up. A good reminder to remember everyone has a story and we are not the one to judge anyone. There is already a high judge who sees the whole picture.

Wow that story touched my heart and soul. God forgive me for my awful fleshly nasty unrighteous judgment towards other people 😢I’m so so sorry GOD for they are also created in your beautiful image.

Wow, wow, what a fantastic encouraging educational background into Haggai. Like previous comments, I had tears over the tattooed lady. I'm guilty of judging on appearances, so thank you for this check in my behavior. Blessings from New Zealand.

Thank you for the lesson pastor Gary, remind me with my own judgement toward the lady in my church who dress sexy and come late or go out early every service, instead praise God that she still come to church regularly and be happy, I m just laughing with my sister in sinister every time she walk in or out. I don’t know what her story but I know mine now I will not do it again. I will respect her and be happy for her to come to church. Thank you again pastor Gary. ❤

I used to judge people by looking at their appearance. Now a days, I try to be compassionate. That was a good anecdote, pastor.

Thank you Ps G. A powerful sermon to remind us not to judge others based on what’s seen on the surface. Got to obtain the facts and have compassion and empathy.
