Could it be possible that the Baptism with the Holy Spirit will not come if we are only baptised in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit?

In acts 2 they receive the gift of tongue; they were filled with the Holy Spirit. This "they" were the 11 apostle (plus Matthias or those in chapter 1:13)....they were not yet baptized in the name of Jesus before receiving the Holy Spirit; were they? So, why does Peter say you will receive the gift of the Holy spirit after baptism? In addition, does the forgiveness of sins comes from repentance and baptism in name of Jesus? Is it not from just believing in Him alone? Reason Im confused is...I do believe that you can receive the Holy Spirit before repentance and baptism. It seemed so for them too at Pentecost. That you do not have to be baptized, first, to be filled with Holy Ghost. My testimony is, someone told me about Jesus in my twenties, now 47. I had believed the gospel (Jesus death, barrel and resurrection for my sins), I acknowledged I was a sinner in need of Savior; that Jesus was God in flesh who died for my sin, rose again on third day...I prayed these things are true by faith and instantly spoke in tongues, received the Holy Ghost (before any action of repentance or baptism). After, some weeks later, God lead me by The Spirit to a church. To this, I believe God wanted me to mature/grow and to get baptized; to be given a Bible. I was so hungry for it. Im just a little confused in my understanding about baptism...is baptism a symbol of what has already taken place in the heart of believer, then given Holy Spirit? Or, does forgiveness and Holy Spirit comes through baptism? Does acknowledging Youre a sinner the same as repentance?
