The entire soundtrack, like the film, still causes an atmosphere of impossibility. This film is still one of the coolest horror films! It has its own philosophy!

Ah yes, 1980 was a stellar and great year for movies and 1980 was the year of brilliant films like The Empire Strikes Back, The Shining, Caddyshack, Raging Bull, Stir Crazy with Gene Wilder, The Blues Brothers, Airplane!, Cheech and Chong's Next Movie, and The Elephant Man. I Love The Shining with a passion. The Shining is my all time favorite Stanley Kubrick film, Jack Nicholson's performance as Jack Torrance was excellent, and Shelley Duvall was great as Wendy Torrance. Jack Nicholson's famous line "Here's Johnny!" is iconic, the direction by Stanley Kubrick was impressive, and the bar scenes with Joe Turkel as Lloyd were also very good. I also love The Empire Strikes Back, Caddyshack, and Stir Crazy. The Empire Strikes Back is my all time favorite Star Wars film, The Empire Strikes Back had brilliant direction by Irvin Kershner, and Caddyshack along with Stir Crazy are both excellent comedy films.
Overall, 1980 was one of the best movie years. The Shining is an all time classic film by Stanley Kubrick, 1980 is a way much better film year than 2018-2022, and The Shining as well as The Empire Strikes Back, Caddyshack, Raging Bull, Stir Crazy, and The Blues Brothers are my top 6 favorite films of 1980.
