Japanese railway companies provided technical support and know-how, assisting with the introduction of high-speed rail in China. For example, in 2004, China introduced the "CRH1" high-speed train, based on Japan's Shinkansen "0 series, " utilizing Japanese railway technology. At that time, JR East and JR West provided China with expertise in train technology, operations, and even the design of station facilities and signaling systems. Based on this, China began expanding its own high-speed rail network and later developed models such as the "CRH2" and "CRH3."

However, in the following years, China began developing its own high-speed rail technology and increasingly claimed these technologies as "homegrown." Notably, the "CRH380A" model, introduced in 2011, was based on Japanese Shinkansen technology, but China emphasized its independence in the development. For instance, after the 2011 Wenzhou train accident, the Chinese government acknowledged overconfidence in its own technology and, in response, reintroduced Japanese technology in subsequent high-speed train models.

Japan's railway technology was introduced to China under agreements such as the "Japan-China Railway Cooperation Agreement" in the late 1990s and the "Shinkansen Technology Transfer Agreement" signed in 2004.

Given that China benefited from Japan’s support in building its high-speed rail infrastructure, its behavior of repaying this assistance with ingratitude is truly shameful.
