Why I HATE the Mora Classic

Mora is a classic manufacturer of bushcraft or outdoors tools. Here's a tongue in cheek psuedo review of one of their best in classic livery.

The sheath is absolutely perfect for swedish winters, drainhole, no leather that can mold if you have trouble drying it if you are out longer than a few hours and your staying place can not be heated. All a question of what is needed.

when i worked with property management as a teen in sweden, we each were given a fresh Morakniv and were told that if we were to break the knife within a week they'd double our pay.
When i did what we call "lumpen" ( millitary service ) we were given the classic 2, im pretty at some point i loved that knife more than my family.

I've got a lot of really expensive knives but I always grab a Mora lol

I love my Mora for the same reason I love my Smith & Wesson M&P Flipper Pocket knife. Super cheap, heavy duty beater knives that are up to any job, easy to sharpen, and I can give them away, throw them away, lose them, break them and I've got 3 more of each back home to replace them.

Found an ancient Mora in my grandpas belonings after he sadly passed at 96. I picked it up and remembered when I was a toddler we were driving down a country dirt road at winter, and he suddenly stopped. He had seen the perfect small christmas tree. Got out and said a few bad words as he did not find the handaxe in the trunk. But with the Mora and a pipe, he cut it down, and the tree was given as a present to my parents. Glad to have it with me in my car now, 45 ys later.

Moras are great! The Bushcraft Black is one of the best knives i own. It's amazing.
I have a Mora Classic with a leather sheath. It's my EDC knife with my Victorinox Huntsman. 🙂

For better retention in the sheath first find th point at which the bulge of the handle meets the sheath. Now. With about a one eighth inch drill bit drill through the outer face of the sheath. Next cuta very narrow wedge from the hole to the top. This mod intruduces a bit more springiness to the sheath and somewhat improves retention. This is obviously a permanent alteration so consider carefully before proceeding.

I've had the mora classic 2f since I was a kid. Still have it to this day and is by far my favorite blade. I'm in my late 40s now so I've had it at least 40 years.

Not to be picky but a scabbed is for a sword or dagger in definition, a sheath is for a knife even big knifes BUT this is definitely not a hateful video it's definitely a awesome one about why I love Mora knifes and why I own so many of them.

yeah .. swede here. I have lots of them. Cut myself in my frozen hand badly in the foret in the winter a few years back.. so when i work in the forest to resupply firewood or recreational i use the mora 612 with the small handguard

My only Mora is a #3 classic.
It is sharp, soft and comfortable in any position, warm even in Canadian winter, and so light that it is imperceptibly forgotten.
It seems so fragile compared to my other knives, but it is nevertheless towards him that my thoughts and my hand always tend.
Than you Stief for this refreshing video.

Hang on, I’m getting the feeling that you don’t HATE the Mora at all! 🤔

I love your sheath! I modified mine to add a ferro rod and some paracord. It makes the sheath more tolerable. I covet yours though - it’s a much more fitting home for such a great knife.

Nice to hear! Im from Sweden but did not know they were popular abroad. Used to find them in the seconhand shops for a few dollars.

Nice sheath but, I have never gotten used to the idea of paying considerably more for a sheath than for the knife it was meant to hold . It's like putting $2, 000 worth of rims on your 2004 Nissan . 🇺🇸😎👍

nice comment on the Mora knife, I like my Mora 510, it's so light weighted and so comfortable in my hand. also, easy to resharpen.

I agree with you about the sheath. I'd rather have paid a few dollars more for a combo with the knife and an inexpensive leather sheath or a one-piece polymer sheath like they include with most of their other knives. The plastic sheath included with the Classic just seems cheap. That being said, I'm glad I bought one because it really is a good knife.

I got my first mora when i was 5, still holds to this day. It’s definitely not the best knife for every situation but it performs well for pretty much any tasks.
Thank you for a fun video, greetings from Sweden
