There's no Gout about it. This guy is special.

100 heat: 6.55+3.44 (60m+40m) = 9.99 easing.

100 final: 6.62+ *3.37* (60m+40m) = 9.99. 3.37 is only 0.02 slower than Lyles’ best final 40m EVER. Ridiculous.

200 heat: 10.55+9.65 (100m+100m) = 20.21 easing.

200 final: 10.6+ *9.25* (100m+100m) = 19.84.

Fastest 150-200m split in HISTORY: 4.60-ish.

Faster 150-200 split than 100-150 split (100-150=4.65n 150-200=4.60). That NEVER EVER happens.

Gout is a freak of nature and defies physics.

It’s not unreasonable to predict him going 3.30 (or less!) from 60-100m as an adult - Bolt’s best is 3.27 OR 3.29 - Lyles’ best is 3.35. Tyson Gay’s best is 3.32 iirc. 3.37 is ELITE.

9.24 100-200m windy means he can go 9.3 for sure wind-legal, and managing to keep that time that low whilst improving his first 100m by 0.2 is scary.

That 19.84 is a high 19.7 with a normal reaction time, and possibly having less wind might have enabled him to run a faster curve (due to it possibly being a crosswind on the bend, which is bad).

Gout is going sub-19.90 wind-legal this year for sure, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see 19.7X and 9.8on the clock before he turns 18.

-Gout- Goat.

Yeah, Jumpman called me out. I did pick 19.80 and I would have been right if that dastardly starter didn't make Gout Gout take a shit in the blocks.

Most the Gout sceptics on the internet were from North America because they find it hard to believe that anything really good can come from anywhere but the US or Jamaica. Perhaps now they'll drop the hype tag. Gout just keeps on improving and he won't stop at 17 years and 4 months. He is clearly the real deal and sometime this year we'll see a 19.6 from him.

ian thorpe is probably the closest I can think for us, he is considered a top 5 ever swimmer and was the best in the world for a decent amount of time

So far its safe to say Gout is creating his own wind, so the times should be counted ☠️

Jumpman, I know you follow field events a bit. I was a decathlete and coached John Minns, former Australian shot put record holder who ran 11.1 and 22.8 (still the Victorian record holder) as a 14yo. Won the national 100m, 200m and shot put and got beaten by Werner Reiterer(sp?) in the disc. Anyway, I've been following Matt Denny, who threw down a series in the discus of a couple of days ago. It makes him have about 7 of the top 12 throws of all time, as he chucked a 72.07 the day before this insane series. He fell 10cm short of the world record but pulled off the equivalent of running 9.59 followed by 5 sub 9.65 runs in one day. Some footage on twitter, but no comprehensive analysis yet on what might be the best athletic performance in history, and by an Australian.

Forget the running. The most exciting thing is when you see him interviewed. He seems to be a very grounded person.

0:10 simbine getting 9.90 into a -1.4 headwind at altitude was badass. Man is ready.

I immediately looked at the world record and even if you go back to a 9.99 that around 8 tenths away. Amazing run at 17 years of Age. What i love is Gout Gout is consistently bringing his times down. Loving the ride.❤😊🤗🌏
