He doesn’t put on a front to please the public he’s just himself that’s why I love him

When I first read the books, I was shocked at the overlap between what he was saying and what my parents tried to teach me when I was a kid. My respect for them was suddenly much stronger and I had them read them. They too were pleased to learn there was someone trying to teach the same lessons they taught me.

Mr. Rogers was such a gem. I'm grateful to be a child of the 80's. I grew up on his wisdom. He was truly a creative.

Interviewer: "how would you like to be described after you die?"

JP: "Honest."

That's how you know the man is genuine. He's the same publicly as he is privately.

I confess that I am quite jealous of you. My own father rarely had deep, insightful, things to share with me as a child. I can remember every conversation we ever had. Thats how few those moments were for us. Your father is an intellectual man with a deeply rooted wisdom that is hard to find in this day and age. God bless you and your family. Please continue to share your experiences its quite inspiring.

He is who he is. At least he thought about art, thought about colors, and had dinner conversation with his kids (or tried to). Give the man an “A” for effort. He created a home, he created thought. Or at least provoked it. He wasn’t sitting on the couch drinking beer and managing the remote.

I like him for that reason. Consistent through his practice, always challenging himself, and sharing what he can make sense of.

Mikhaila, I met your father yesterday in Warsaw. We had a short chat when he was leaving Poland. And the day before I attended to his lecture.
I was so happy to meet him in person. He spent three minutes of his time showing me that indeed he is exactly as kind and honest as everyone who has ever heard and tried to understand him surely thinks he is. It was not a surprise at all. It was a great honor. There was something in the air, like maybe a trust that one can only feel towards a truly good human.
We even laughed together as I made a joke and I was afraid he wouldn't like it.

Among other things I thank him for his work but I did not explain to him that I am convinced that he is a single most important person for the West in at least few recent and upcoming years. I hope people will realize that before it's too late for the society. Maybe you could share that thought from me to him? It's easier to write than say.

Regards, Luke

P. S. That falling Lenin was probably the easiest way to learn about the nature of totalitarianism. I loved that story.:)

Did he make you "keep your room in order before taking on the world?"

“Dad can I hangout with my boyfriend tonight”
Jordan: “well, what, does, it mean to hangout. If of course your referring to the contemporary meaning of hangout then no. In fact, I often recommend to my female clients…”
