Are bigger tyres better?

In this video watch as I swap from 700c x 38mm wheels and tyres for new 650b x 47mm wheels and tyres from WTB. There’s a lot of interest in 650b on all-road and adventure bikes right now, but what do you think to this trend? Let m know in the comments below.

Instead of the WTB horizon tires I would suggest trying the WTB Resolutes. They aren't quite as wide, but offer some bite that most other tires that size won't.

Thank you. When you buy new wheels, what I'm wondering is how does a freewheel fit multiple sized cassettes, say 9/10 and 11 speed. Wouldn't you need different freewheel sizes for different speed cassettes, or are the freewheels that advertise that they take multiple speeds accepting different speeds because the cogs on a lower speed cassette are wider? So a 9 speed cassette is as wide as an 11 speed cassette?

You were slightly off in the way you were using the chain whip. The whip should rest on the cassette on the small piece of chain before you wrap the long chain piece around the cassette.

Is the diameter of the 650b smaller? Will it make the bike’s standover smaller? If so I would like it cos I am short 😊

How much clearance did you have with the 650b wheels fitted? I have one of these frames on order and plan to fit a set of Stans Crest 650b wheels for trail use. The wheels currently have some Maxxis 2.0 MTB tyres fitted which I'm hoping will fit without rubbing.

Howdy David! I’ve had a 2018 specialized sequoia elite for three months and I’m over the moon about it. I’m really intrigued about doing a 650b conversion with it, but I’m having a hard time picturing the clearance in between the chainstays. I haven’t seen anyone do it yet with a sequoia. I was wondering if you know anyone that’s tried it? Also, I’ve definitely enjoy watching your videos here and on road cc. Thanks for your the wind!
